Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains what information the Emporia mobile game ("Emporia", "the game") collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Emporia is made by Yomu Labs Inc. ("we", "us"). If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].
The short version
- Emporia has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Your game progress is saved on your device.
- The game sends anonymous gameplay statistics and crash reports so we can fix bugs and improve the game.
- Watching an ad is always your choice. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects device information to show and measure ads.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we ask before any of this starts. Anyone can change their choice from the Privacy button on the game's title screen.
1. Information stored on your device
Your map, cities, gold and other progress, your settings and your privacy choices are saved in the game's own storage on your device. We do not upload your save. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data, deletes it.
2. Information collected automatically
Gameplay statistics (analytics)
To understand how people play, for example how far players get, which buildings they use and where the game is too hard or too easy, the game sends usage events to two analytics services:
- GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS). The game creates a random player ID when it is first started. That ID is not linked to your name or to any advertising ID. With it we send in-game events (such as levels reached, items built, gold earned and spent, ads watched), session start and length, and basic device details: platform, operating system version, device manufacturer and model, and the game's version.
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC). The Firebase SDK creates an app instance ID and collects the same in-game events, along with device and app details such as device model, operating system version, language, app version, and sessions and engagement time.
Our analytics do not use your device's advertising ID. Like any internet service, these providers receive your IP address when the game connects to them; they use it to estimate your country or region and for security, and we do not see it.
Crash reports
If the game crashes, it sends a crash report to our own error server (errors.yomulabs.com). A report contains the error message and where in the game's code it happened, the game's version, your platform (for example Android or iOS), the game engine's version, the time, and which game screen was open. It contains no player ID or device ID. Our server receives your IP address as part of the connection, but does not store it with the report.
Your region setting
The game reads the region your phone is set to (for example "FR" or "US") to decide whether it must ask for your consent before analytics start. This check happens on your device.
3. Advertising
Emporia offers optional rewarded ads: you can choose to watch an ad in exchange for a temporary in-game bonus. Ads are only shown when you tap to watch one. They are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC).
To serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID (the Android Advertising ID or, on iPhone, the IDFA, only if you allow tracking when asked);
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it;
- device information such as model, operating system, language and network type;
- information about the ads shown to you and how you interact with them.
Depending on your choices and where you live, Google may use this information to show personalized ads. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google's consent form is shown before ads are personalized, and you can change your answer later from the Privacy button on the title screen. On iPhone, the game asks your permission before your IDFA can be used, and you can change that later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
Google's use of this information is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. In-app purchases
If Emporia offers in-app purchases, they are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive your name, card or other payment details; we only receive a confirmation that a purchase was made so we can deliver the item.
5. Why we use your information
| Purpose | Information | Legal basis (EEA, UK, Switzerland) |
|---|---|---|
| Saving your game | Game progress and settings, on your device | Providing the game you asked for |
| Fixing crashes | Crash reports | Our legitimate interest in a game that works |
| Understanding and improving the game | Gameplay statistics | Your consent |
| Showing the rewarded ads you ask for | Advertising information collected by Google | Your consent for personalized ads; for non-personalized ads, our legitimate interest in funding a free game |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers named above, which process it for the purposes described here:
- GameAnalytics ApS: privacy policy
- Google LLC (Firebase Analytics and AdMob): privacy policy
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website: privacy policy
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
7. How long we keep it
- Saved games stay on your device until you delete the game or its data.
- Gameplay statistics are kept only as long as they help us understand and improve the game, within the retention limits of GameAnalytics and Firebase. After that, only aggregated totals that cannot identify anyone remain.
- Crash reports are kept until the bug they describe is fixed and they are no longer useful for finding problems.
- Google keeps advertising data according to its own policies.
8. Your choices and rights
- Turn analytics off: tap Privacy on the title screen and choose not to allow. The game stops sending statistics and deletes its random player ID and any events not yet sent.
- Change your ad choices: use the same Privacy button (where Google's consent form applies), your iPhone's Tracking setting, or your Android phone's ad settings.
- Delete everything on your device: uninstall the game.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the game has no accounts and uses only random IDs, we usually cannot link data to you, but email us at [email protected] and we will help. If you are in the EEA or the UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell personal information. Where ads are personalized, Google's use of your advertising ID may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out by declining personalized ads, limiting ad tracking or deleting your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
9. Children
Emporia is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries outside your own. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
11. Security
The game sends information over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and we limit what we collect to what we need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
12. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or ads. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game changes. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the game or on its store pages.
